MBC! WTH!?

Two hours after the episode aired and I thought I had gotten over it after having railed on Twitter and ranting to Mieru via Whatsapp as well. I even thought that no, maybe I should wait for the subs to emerge before saying anything further since my listening comprehension isn’t all that spectacular. But after getting dinner and having had the time to sit and think for a bit, I think that it is imperative that I let the steam all out before I burst at the seams.

Seriously MBC. WHAT is your problem?? Today’s episode was so good for our couple and you had to go ruin it by throwing in that crap excuse of a circus sideshow with WooJung. If I am going to give WooJung the benefit of the doubt that they would not be so evil on their own as to even THINK of stealing Dimple House from TeukSo on their own, guess who is left to blame? That’s right MBC. YOU!!!

YOU!! How could you even allow a plot-line with the possibility of TeukSo losing Dimple House?? That house is TeukSo’s!! WooJung are supposed to have their own house and they HAD their own house!! If you want to reduce them to living out of a camping car, that is YOUR problem and WooJung’s! WHY do you have to involve TeukSo?? WHY??

And YOU!! WOOJUNG!! I actually like the both of you individually so I was really quite appalled with what was shown on today’s broadcast! It was a classic demonstration of what it takes to be at the peak of horrendously BAD social behavour! You were like the relatives from hell that some of us spend 363 days in a year praying HARD over to develop spontaneous bouts of amnesia so that they not visit during Christmas and New Year!

YOU!! You covetous pair!! You have A LOT of guts showing up at Dimple House the way you did! Not only did you persist in going to TeukSo’s, at half past ten in the night, plotting to challenge them out of their abode, you went ahead with the ‘visit’ despite Teukie calling EunJung back to ask that you make the trip on another day because they were tired and thinking of calling it a day already. They even greeted you at the door in their pajamas! Pajamas!! They were ready for bed and you two clowns still showed up!

And YOU!! Showing up at that sort of an hour aside, you proceeded to not only inspect the house but even sat yourselves on the host couple’s bed! TEUKSO’S BED!! Excuse me, but have you not been taught that it is just plain RUDE to plonk yourself onto someone else’s bed? And it was a bed that these poor people were all dressed for, all ready to rest in till YOU showed up! It’s not like either of you are DongHae who’s a brother, and even his resting on their bed was already appalling! Teukie didn’t even want you in their bedroom but you just barged in nonetheless for a tour! YOU!! You were just plain intruding and on behalf of my Teukie and his Sora, I take MUCH offense at that!

But truly. Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING beats just how annoyed I am at MBC even allowing WooJung to challenge TeukSo for the possession of Dimple House. If WooJung was pushed to do it, then whoever it is that is responsible for this farce in MBC? YOU! You deserve to have poop RAINED on your head by a flock of incontinent fowl! And WooJung! If you wanted to do this on your own accord then the both of you deserve to live out the rest of your married life with nothing else but a cereal box for shelter!

KEEP YOUR PAWS TO YOURSELF AND OFF DIMPLE HOUSE AND LEAVE MY TEUKIE AND HIS SORA ALONE!! ALL OF YOU!!

*ANGRY!!*

Teuk on WGM at the ‘Sexy, Free & Single’ Press Conference

I know I am two weeks behind in my writing but this seems to be the hot topic of the moment and since I am in the mood, I figured that I had better get this out of the way before I get sidetracked like I have been the last couple of weeks! (Everything is half-written!! Procrastination will be my downfall!!)

To cut a long story short, some kind souls at Baidu posted some translations of news articles in which Teukie mentioned Sora and WGM. I think they are worth sharing so I took the liberty of translating these translations.

Do note though that since these are translations from translations, I (as usual) took some liberties. The sentence structure of some parts have been changed while translating to make for easier reading while keeping as close I could to the original meaning of the sentences as a whole, so do bear these in mind while reading.

Huwaah! 4 months of not meeting face to face?? Teukie’s DEFINITELY going to be awkward!! LOL!!

Er… So. MBC. Am I supposed to be less pissy at you because you filmed my Teukie talking about his Sora during the Paris trip? No. Doesn’t work that way. Not when you didn’t bring her along! I’m steadfastly holding that against you, you stupid broadcaster with the whatshisface who is still selfishly holding onto his seat at the top! TSK!

Episode Notes : 120310 (Additionals)

Watching Teuk’s attempt at scaring Sora from behind reminds me that sometimes I actually do think that they complement each other so well because one is at the mental age where the other is physically. =P

Ahh! The cactus-wannabe thing behind where the bears went on is not a stand. Tis a coat rack!! I geddit now!

One thing about these two: They both have distinct laughter. When you hear it, you know it is them!

So the recipe book that Sora bought was supposed to be a BASIC book, but going through the first page was challenging for Sora. Aigoo! What’s going to happen to Teukie’s seafood stew? =P But I like that Sora is willing to meet the challenge. She’s cool that way! Melikes!!

Teukie’s such a child!! ROFL!! But I would have been happier if he had hugged her from the back instead of patting her arm. Hee! =P

Think they have yet to see how the house looks like since all the furniture went in. They look REALLY happy!! But what makes me happiest is that they DO have a piano in the house!! YAY!!

Sora’s brought lots of things with her for the house! A heart-hug cushion, similar to the ones that they sell in Ikea and a pair of plush bear hand puppets that fans gave. Sora Bear and Teukie Bear!!

She’s also brought a recipe book. It is a quite a big book! They’re flipping through it and he’s telling her what he wants from it. She says that she will try her best. Sora-sshi! Fighting!!! p(^^)q

Dilly*Dally – The ‘Group Date’ Bakery (A Follow-Up)

Remember this? That particular branch of Dilly*Dally apparently has some new signage up trumpeting their role in Fighting Junior’s blind date! (Photo credits as tagged!)

My only gripe is this: Did they HAVE to use a cap of HyukJae giving that mobile in a cake box to EunSeo?? Granted, the cake box was the bakery’s but still… -_-

I shall endeavour to go check the place out myself next month! Wish me luck!! ^^

About the MBC strike

So news from the grapevine has it that MBC has said that the TeukSora x HaeSeo* group date will be aired on both 10 and 17 March. Like most TeukSora fans, I was happy that WGM resumed regular broadcast this last weekend (and what a good episode it was!). That was until I read that the PDs and crew working on MBC’s stable of airing dramas would be joining in the strike as well. I had been under the impression that the situation was getting better since WGM resumed broadcast but this, apparently, was not the case since things have just gotten worse.

For me, it is good that I get to see TeukSora after such a long while and I really do appreciate that short but really sweet episode that aired on Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, I feel quite bad that someone had to have given in to the arm-twisting by MBC for WGM to air. This feeling, in particular, arose when I read about how MBC had been making use of the success of its dramas to put down the strikes. It was this that made me realise just how important it was to MBC to have a popular variety like WGM resume regular broadcast because it firstly supports the facade that the labour strike was not as big an issue as it seemed. The resumption of WGM’s broadcast also enforces a feeling of false security for both investors and viewers alike, that things will be back to normal soon and that will help buoy sales and advertising revenue for MBC, both which I am sure have been affected negatively by the strike.

I do not know much about the problems within MBC that are causing the strike, but I think I can safely say that they have to be pretty serious to the members of the staff if these strikes are taking place on an annual basis. And to have the drama PDs join in as well now. That says A LOT especially if it is true that MBC has been making use of the performance of the dramas to hit back at the staff that have been on strike since January.

The upside to this is that the crew behind ‘The Moon That Embraces The Sun’ is part of the team that is joining the strike and MoonSun is THE best performing drama that MBC has had in a while. This might mean that a real end is in sight for the labour strike since MBC would be feeling more pressured to let MoonSun continue its winning run right till the end. As we saw with WGM, a strike does impact ratings so it would only benefit MBC to let MoonSun finish its run unaffected. On the other hand, if MBC stubbornly refuses to budge, I am afraid that we might be looking at no more TeukSora again very soon.

I honestly feel bad because going on strike is not an easy decision for any employee to make because you are directly attacking the hand that feeds you and your family. To give up on the strike and head back to work while your peers are still holding their ground is an even harder decision to make since it primarily makes you look like a traitor to everyone else. It is also an issue of putting down your pride to give up on something that you believe in, and in Asian societies like ours, both pride and how others view us as individuals, are REALLY big things. So it must have been really difficult for whoever it is to give up on the strike and head back to work because of all the repercussions tied to it.

I am not so noble to say that as a viewer, I am going to take a stance against bullying and the abuse of power by not watching WGM as it airs while the strike goes on. As a foreign viewer living outside MBC’s realm, what I choose to watch or not watch has no  immediate and direct impact anyway. As cheesy as this sounds, I will, however, have it in mind to be more thankful for each episode that airs during the strike. Someone in MBC is making sacrifices to do the work while the others continue to fight for what they all feel is right. This person (or persons) will be doing A LOT more than what he/she is usually required to do since everyone else is on strike and I think for that alone, he/she is fully worthy of thanks.

That aside, I hope that somebody in MBC wakes up soon and does something substantial and positive to end the strikes once and for all because this sort of thing really does nobody any good.

* I had typed ‘EunHae’ before it occurred to me as to just how blasphemous that would be especially in light of what EunSeo did to ‘get’ DongHae. Hence ‘HaeSeo’ it shall be.

PD Kim JunHyeon on the couples of ‘We Got Married’

A sojourn through Dimple Couple @ Baidu produced this little gem of an article, which proved to be quite an interesting read, so I decided to do a quick translation from the Chinese translation to share. I am a little lazy to do the grey boxes hence am just hyperlinking to the thread on Baidu in case anybody wants to have a look at it.

The extracts of the article located at the top of the Chinese translation has been omitted because being a ‘highlights’ portion, it just repeats what was said below. The sentence structure of some parts have also been changed while translating to make for easier reading while retaining the original meaning of the sentences as a whole.

What is the common factor between Alex and ShinAe, Crown J and Seo InYoung, Kim WonJoon and Park SoHyeon?

All couples that appeared in MBC’s ‘We Got Married’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘WGM’) became the topic of ‘real romance’ rumors after their appearances.

Episode Notes : 111008

Thanks to the MBC strike and the drought of new WGM episodes, there is a bit of time for me to go back and catch up on writing on older TeukSora episodes that I did not get to write about. I initially thought of working backwards but I figured that since I have the time, that I might as well work from the very first episode since I would be rewatching everything all over again anyway. So here is the first of the result of that ‘working backwards’ that I am doing. With any luck, I will get derailed from doing this very soon when the strike is over but till then, I shall endeavor to catch up as much as I can.
